Mary Muia, current SIAF President and previous SI UN Representatives in Nairobi, shares her inspiring journey from overcoming adversities in her early childhood, losing both parents at the age of seven, to her determination to pursue education and empower vulnerable adolescent girls and young women through her grandmother’s legacy and her experiences at Kawethei primary school in Kenya.
Soroptimists of Follo in Norway in collaboration with SI Rygge (Norway) and SI Nisporeni (Moldova) worked together to provide training sessions to 55 girls aged 15 to 18. The three SI Clubs united to deliver these sessions to help the girls increase their life skills, including public speaking.
Financial assistance awarded to Syifa by Soroptimist Club Penang and the encouragement she received from Soroptimists enabled Syifa to complete her Diploma course in Management so that she could graduate.
