Organised crime activities are generating profits in the billions of dollars at the expense of women, girls and the planet. Experts will provide basic information as to how organised crime is having a direct and severe impact on not only climate change, but on women and girls.
In this webinar we learned how civil society including women and girls can join public institutions and local communities in fighting the two major global battles in the 21st century – against climate change and against organised crime – by coming up with creative and locally meaningful solutions.
Experts discussed how States can provide better law enforcement action, be creative and leverage such tools as criminal asset recovery, procedures for disposing of seized illicit goods and monitor and access countries’ commitments to slashing fossil fuels/carbon emissions by the extent to which they actively disable the “carbon-intensive” criminal groups operating on their territories.
