Demand donors and sponsors to revisit the way grants and other finances for local activities to local women are disbursed. The tool of gender-sensitive budgeting can be helpful for choices and monitoring.
The evidence shows that income inequalities have continued to increase both within and between countries which disproportionately impacts women and girls, and not helping them to act themselves. Currently, the intended financial support for the local level is not reaching women and girls. The methodology on disbursing/allocating funds needs changing, enabling them, not giving them more administrative burden. The session informs on alternatives, practiced by organisations, interviewed by Women for Water Partnership (WfWP).
